PrimaTimber has its roots in Joensuu, where our journey began in 2003. At that time, Iivari Mononen Oy acquired two impregnation plants located at Joensuu’s deep-water port and in Kettuvaara. Our vision was clear: to provide high-quality treated timber for wholesalers serving the retail market. From the very beginning, our planed, rounded green decking board became a customer favorite – and we continued to develop products that make yard and garden construction easier and more stylish.

In 2004, we took the next step by building modern facilities at Joensuu’s deep-water port and consolidating all impregnation operations there. We quickly grew from being a subcontractor to becoming a manufacturer of finished, high-quality products.

In 2018, we expanded our expertise by acquiring Joensuun Höyläyspalvelu Oy in Karhunmäki, making timber planing a natural part of our production. A few years later, we built our headquarters adjacent to the planing mill – all to streamline operations and improve service.

At the beginning of 2026, PrimaTimber expanded into Sweden by acquiring Wood Support Ab, which was renamed PrimaTimber AB following the acquisition. Jarmo Säily founded Wood Support Ab in 2000, when it operated purely as a trading company. In 2003, Hans Westermark purchased 50% of the company, and it continued to operate as a wholesale business until March 2008, when Lindverken AB – a planing mill and impregnation facility – was acquired by Wood Support AB. Today, the former Wood Support, now PrimaTimber, is a modern trading company with its own production facility in Säffle, ensuring quality at every stage of the production process.

Today, PrimaTimber is a strong brand that represents quality, durability, and innovation in wood products for outdoor and garden construction. Our main markets are in Finland, but over the years, our products have been exported to several countries. Our history is the foundation of our future – and we continuously develop solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
